PCBCoin 20K Followers Edition
PCBCoin 20K Followers Edition
The PCBCoin is a printed circuit board designed to look like a coin. Nearly the entire edge of the coin is gold plated, giving it a very unique look. Due to the way the plating is done, the entire edge cannot be plated. The coin can be removed from the outer holder by twisting it to break it free.
Tier Quality
I’ve sorted through all of the coins and assigned them into tiers. See marked photos for more details. The tiers are as follows:
Good: Nearly perfect, these coins will typically have two or more blemishes.
Fair: More than 3 blemishes, these coins are the bottom tier. Two Fair coins for the price of one Good coin.
See ‘Additional Information’ for examples of each grade.
Disclaimer: Due to tolerances in the PCB fabrication process, no two PCBCoins are the same. I visually inspect each PCB to make sure that only the best coins get sent out. If you are unhappy with the coin that you receive, please let me know and I’ll make it right.
PCBCoin 2020 Specs:
40x40mm overall (30.5mm diameter coin)
1.6mm thick PCB
1oz copper plating
1U” ENIG (Electroless Nickle Immersion Gold) plating
Black (Glossy) solder mask
Removing the coin from the holder:
You can choose to leave the coin in the holder, you do not need to remove it if you prefer.
To remove the coin, simply push back and forth on the unsupported edges of the coin.
The coin should break free after a few iterations.
There will be some rough edges on the coin after removal. Use some sandpaper or a file to smooth these out, being careful not to scratch the gold edges of the coin.
Note: The supports holding the coin in the holder are an unavoidable part of the design. They are necessary for the edge to be plated.
Note regarding International Shipping:
There are two options for shipping outside the of USA that can be selected at checkout.
The first option is direct from me to you via USPS (usually more expensive).
Option two ships from France. This option is generally much cheaper, and in some cases may even be faster.
These PCBCoins come in two different Grades, Good and Fair.
Good: There will typically be 2-3 blemishes on the coin. The blemishes range from small to medium, but overall the coins still look great.
Fair: Coins with more than 3 blemishes or scratches will end up here. You get two coins for the price of one. Only get these if you are okay with multiple defects on the coin.
