Hello!
My name is Kenton, and I’ve had a passion for electronics my whole life. Growing up, one of the biggest questions I had was how computers worked, and that drove me to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering. I received my BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2014, and I have been working at a local embedded computer company post graduation.
EvilmonkeyzDesignz was something that I started on Instagram as a way to show other people the electronics that I am working on in my spare time, and has slowly evolved into something more. I really enjoy looking at things up close under the microscope to discover what secrets they hide, stuff that most would never see. This was the creative force behind the #ComponentsCloseUp series. When I first started that series I remember thinking that I can probably find a way to make it to 100 unique posts, but at this point I think it will go much farther than that.
I don’t have any special photography equipment, other than my microscope, and I currently all photographs are taken on a Samsung Galaxy S10 cellphone. If you would like to learn more about my setup, check out the "My Setup” tab above.
